Annie + Wayne featured on Utah Bride Blog

Okay so I've been sitting here, blog-wondering (yes wondering, not stalking), facebookin' and trying to think of something witty to write about this super-cool couple and their longboarding Love Shoot.
But alas, staying up until 4:30am and be woken up my daughter and son at the crack of dawn are effecting the few braincells I have left (and yes you lose brain cells from having kids...it is NOT a myth!) So witty and well written posts are not available from me today.
Please check out Wayne + Annie, who were featured on the Utah Bride Blog and leave them some love! Oh and if you have an upcoming wedding please check out the Utah Bride Blog it is only the most informative hot spot for all your wedding day planning, add to that great flower tips every Friday and lots and lots of yummy eye candy!

p.s. I love seeing our Poly people featured! We need more of that!

Justin + Marissa: Groomals in Salt Lake City

A little wedding terminology 101.... there are Bridal Sessions: where the bride dresses up, has a trial run with her hair, makeup and wearing her dress... And then there are Groomal Sessions: where both the bride and groom get dressed up and take pictures before their wedding day. Groomals and Day After sessions are great because you can get pictures at various locations that you might not be able to on your actual wedding day, plus you have unlimited time and are probably a lot more relaxed and stress free. Oh, and it gives you an excuse to wear your dress another day! Justin and Marissa were totally awesome and opted to do a groomal session prior to their wedding. We explored Salt Lake City and found some sweet spots.

Justin + Marissa: Married

Meet Marissa and Justin. They are current BYU students about to take on the world as doctors. I once had a dream to become a doctor.....and then I had 2 kids and kissed that dream  (and the brain cells needed to become one) goodbye.    But, seriously these two are my kind of couple, easy-going, super cute, mellow and down to have fun!  Their wedding was May 2nd at the Salt Lake City Temple and their reception was at The Lion House.  They vacationed in Disneyland, then returned to their home states for another reception.

I'm so grateful for this wonderful couple, they booked me when I was just starting my business, before I had any weddings to show them and just based upon my portrait work alone.  Thanks for taking a leap of faith with me Marissa and Justin! You guys rock!

I love spring time at the Temple!

The moment right before a kiss...officially my favorite moment!

They really wanted a jumping picture, so I was happy to help them with that.
See I told you they were fun!

Aren't they cute!

Their Groomal Session is up next!

Smells like Meatballs!

It must be late because I don't know why I'm posting this? Maybe it will bring some laughter to your day and I'm all for laughing at yourself...well actually you'd be laughing at me...but as Steve Urkel said on Full House, "The trick is to make them laugh WITH you, not AT you."

So onto the video. I submitted a video to win a scholarship to the Jose Villa Workshop in Tuscany, Italy. It had to be funny and 12 seconds long. 12 seconds seems like a long time but really isn't long at all. All I could think of when I thought of Italy was meatballs and The Sopranos, so I of course named my video, "Don't break my (meat) balls" (said in a mafia/italian accent)!

(*Disclaimer: I, unfortunately, don't have any video production skills and had to rely purely on making a fool out of myself)

Oh and those are not my hands (they're my husbands), obviously they're like Man-Hands and a different color than my face.

Don't Break My (meat) Balls! on 12seconds.tv

I did not win...its okay, its not like visiting Italy has been my life-long dream or anything...I mean its not like I almost joined the military on the promise that I would for sure go to Italy...that's totally not me.

But the videos that are up to be voted for are so awesome! Seriously, my favorite is "Me + Italy = a floating lotus flower in my hand", by a local film photographer from Utah. I voted for her because her video just makes me think, how do you do that???

So make sure to go and vote for your favorite video!

Maybe I shouldn't post this...it makes me look so uncool??

Utah Maternity Photography || Ingrid

This is baby # 3 for Ingrid and Devere, a little boy, due anytime now. We kept it simple, just next to a window in my home. The best light in your home is supposed to be from a north-facing window, but I don't have any of those in my home. Though, I think we got great some great light despite it all.

Ingrid is one of my good friends from back in our Cottonwood days. She was always good and had her head on straight and maybe the only sane one out of us all, at times ;-)

She is a great mother, you know the kind of mom that is always put together and kids looking cute, yup that's Ingrid! And she makes it look so effortless...meanwhile my kids are running around wild-haired, dirty faced, no clothes.........well I do dress them for church and doctor appointments ;-)
Thanks Ingrid for supporting Kayleen T. Photography, can't wait to meet the new baby!
